CF 217B - Advanced Computer Forensics Credits: 3 Description This course builds upon the skills learned in CF 117B - Computer Forensics . It includes lecture on advanced computer forensics topics and demonstration and practice in using computer forensics tools to analyze and reconstruct evidentiary data.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Set up an investigator’s office and laboratory.
- Have a detailed practical knowledge of how to use current computer forensic tools for data analysis.
- Process crime and incident scenes.
- Use forensic software tools for data acquisition.
- Conduct an email investigation.
- Recover corrupted or fragmented image files.
- Write investigation reports.
- Understand the requirements for an expert witness.
