Description
Advanced studies in body fluid analysis for the clinical laboratory. Emphasis on the compilation of analytical results; evaluation of data for clinical application; and assessment of quality assurance systems for the analysis of urine and other body fluids.

Discuss the anatomy, structure, and function of the kidney, ureters, bladder, and urethra. (cognitive)
Evaluate the physiological mechanisms of glomerular filtration, tubular reabsorption, tubular secretion, and renal blood flow; and how abnormalities contribute to pathology. (cognitive)
Evaluate laboratory findings to identify amino acid disorders; carbohydrate disorders; and other metabolic disorders associated with renal disease. (cognitive)
Interpret results of clearance tests, urine chemistry, metabolic markers and/or sample pigmentation to assess renal function and other factors that influence the results of these tests. (cognitive)
Define and discuss factors that influence calculi formation and methods of calculi analysis. (cognitive)
