Introduction to Chicano literature through the study of classic and contemporary works of prose, poetry, and theater. Course conducted in English.

Use critical reading and writing skills to engage and analyze the works of major Chicano writers.
Demonstrate ability to connect and contextualize literary works within the Chicailo and larger literature traditions.
Demonstrate awareness that literature reflects the diversity of human experience across time and place.

Prerequisite: ENG 100 or ENG 101 or ENG 101H or ENG 113 with a grade of C- or higher; or Department Chair or Instructor approval
