Student Learning Outcomes
- Be conversant in definitions/theories of religion and approaches to its study.
- Be able to reflect critically on the function of religion in the lives of its practitioners and the role of religion in the larger culture.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the religions of the world including belief systems, world views, rituals and text (scripture).
- Demonstrate familiarity with the challenges to traditional religious systems.
- Demonstrate familiarity with the religious responses to suffering and evil.
- Demonstrate familiarity with the academic discussion about the comparing and evaluating of religions.
