Description
This course will focus on the approved procedures for identifying lead based paint hazards and minimizing lead dust generation and soil contamination during weatherization, maintenance, renovation and remodeling activities conducted on pre-1978 private housing and public use facilities.

Student Learning Outcomes

Comprehend and use lead abatement related terminology.
Apply tests and analyze results on surfaces to be disturbed.
Establish containment zone, both interior and exterior, for the safe removal of lead based hazards.
Practice work activities using EPA and HUD approved techniques.
Explain the health effects associated with lead based paint exposure.
Prepare and maintain required job related documentation and records.
Perform cleaning verification of the job site.
