CSEC 110B - Introduction to Digital Forensics Credits: 3 Description This course is an introduction course to digital forensics. This course is used to explain and allow learners to understand the process for conducting a digital investigation through
- Awareness (knowledge of a potential issue or crime),
- Identifying sources of Digital Evidence,
- Collecting and preserving Digital Evidence,
- Describing how to examine and interpret Digital Evidence,
- Describing how to analyze Digital Evidence,
- Reading Digital Investigation Report examples, and
- Explaining Post-Investigative Processes.
This course also describes ethics when conducting Digital Investigations as well as exploring Risk Mitigation/Governance for companies. Lastly the course explores the legal authorities used in processes for both civil and criminal investigations.
