Genetics, heredity, diversity, and the origins and evolution of humans. Examines basic evolutionary biology, including natural selection, and the relevant history, science, and methods in this field.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Recognize a scientific approach to concepts in biological anthropology and its sub-disciplines. 
  2. Identify the principles of genetic and evolutionary processes at cellular and population levels. 
  3. Examine evolutionary history, primates, and current discoveries of hominids and hominins.
  4. Identify bio-cultural explanations for human variation.
