CRJ 106 - Introduction to Corrections Credits: 3 Description This course familiarizes students with the corrections profession. This includes the historical development, current concepts and practices, and issues that impact the management of offenders.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Define corrections and discuss the roles of corrections in the criminal justice system.
- Describe how the concept of punishment has evolved over time.
- Examine special needs offenders and the challenges with housing these populations.
- Analyze the inmate classifications system and the role it plays in the management of offenders.
