MUS 240 - Virtual Studio Technology II Credits: 3 Description A continuation of MUS 239 . Emphasizes advanced DAW usage, particularly ProTools. Students have hands-on experience with concepts and techniques including signal routing strategies, keyboard shortcuts, power commands, editing, automation and other advanced DAW features. NOTE: This course uses Avid ProTools.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Distinguish features and functions of Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) hardware and software.
- Incorporate intermediate to advanced features of DAW hardware and software.
- Combine all DAW features for the creation of music.
- Manage DAW MIDI features.
- Setup a DAW for intermediate to advanced music recordings utilizing both MIDI and audio.
- Evaluate techniques and strategies for signal routing and mixing using a DAW.
Prerequisite: MUS 239 with a grade of C- or higher Corequisite: None Graded: Letter Grade
