MTT 106 - Machine Shop Practice I Credits: 2 Description Expands the student’s manual skills by putting into practice the theories, and user skills introduced in MTT 105. The emphasis will be geared to a more practical, hands-on experience through the use of lathes, layout techniques, vertical and horizontal bandsaws, measuring instruments and some vertical mill work. Shop safety and cleanup are always stressed.
Student Learning Outcomes 1. Measure Milled parts with measuring instruments.
2. Operate and monitor lathe.
3. Set and operate lathe turn diameter, single point thread, and knurl and bore.
4. Measure, verify, and sharpen project cutting tools.
5. Program different operating feeds and speeds for machinery. Prerequisite: FMM 101B Corequisite: None Graded: Letter Grade
