A course designed to introduce students to the theory and practice of ethics. In the context of classical theories and modern moral problems, students will be encouraged to clarify their own ethical positions.

- Analyze the views of key figures and movements in the history of ethics.
- Explain the place of ethics within philosophy.
- Apply an ethical theory to an ethical problem.
- Compose well-constructed philosophical writing such as papers, essays, reading responses, summaries, etc.
