AM 147 - American Sign Language III Credits: 4 Description This course promotes the shifting from comprehension to production of ASL, to bring one’s current ASL fluency to a point of self-generated ASL.
Please note: Students MUST earn a C- or better in this course for completion of the AAS or BAS Deaf Studies.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Attain conversational-level expressive and receptive skills of ASL features in targeted and spontaneous dialogues.
- Indicate expressive and receptive mastery of targeted ASL vocabulary items including lexicalized fingerspelling.
- Express self-generated short stories, narratives and dialogues in ASL.
- Employ strategies for conversation regulators.
