Overview of the practice of forensic anthropology. Identification methods to determine age, sex, ancestry, stature, and unique characteristics from skeletal remains. The role of anthropologists in human rights and disaster response.

Student Learning Outcomes

Perform computational operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in determining sex, age, and ancestry from human skeletal remains. (MATH Component)
Identify the techniques used in determining trauma and/or pathological conditions of the human skeleton.
Explain the steps necessary to establish a positive identification from human skeletal remains.
Outline the role of the forensic anthropologist.
Explain basic protocols for working with law enforcement officials.
