Description Advanced study of periodontology with special emphasis on new surgical modalities and equipment. Orientation to all aspects of periodontal practice.

- Identify current antibiotics and their role in the treatment of periodontal disease.
- Describe the technique for delivery of controlled-released antibiotics.
- Understand the rationale and describe the various periodontal surgeries.
- Recognize periodontal plastic surgery procedures.
- Define periodontal regeneration.
- Define guided tissue regeneration and describe the surgical procedure.
- Understand the concept of periodontal maintenance.
- Define the role of the RDH in a periodontal maintenance.
