Description Administration of local anesthetics and nitrous oxide analgesia. Pharmacologics, patient evaluation, anatomy and neurophysiology, management of medical emergencies.

- Understand the limitations of local anesthesia.
- Review and evaluate the patient medical history.
- Take and record vital signs, recognizing safe parameters.
- Apply pain management techniques to minimize or reduce discomfort.
- Determine the safe minimum and maximum dose and type of anesthetic needed.
- Evaluate the possible interactions of local anesthesia with other medications.
- Recognize medical emergencies and respond in a proper manner for the safety and well-being of the patient.
- Evaluate his/her performance in accordance with accepted methods of pain control.
- Show clinical competency in the administration of various local anesthesia injections and methods course activity.
