Description
Problems of meaning, word derivation and word formation are investigated with a view to enlarging and refining a working English vocabulary.

Recall and define terms associated with vocabulary and linguistics.
Research and use word histories.
Use etymology to define unfamiliar terms.
Use a dictionary and thesaurus to define and pronounce unfamiliar words.
Master discipline-specific vocabulary.
Distinguish among reading/writing/speaking vocabularies.
Become familiar with roots, prefixes and suffixes.
Develop techniques for expanding reading and writing vocabularies.
