CHEM 455L - Instrumental Analysis Laboratory Credits: 2 Description Laboratory stressing the application and techniques of instrumental analysis including spectroscopy, spectrophotometry, electrochemical methods, and thermal analysis and the use of these methods in chemical analysis. Must also be enrolled in CHEM 455 - Instrumental Analysis during the same semester.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate basic experimental skills by setting up and conducting experiments.
- Analyze and collect data.
- Select an appropriate instrument calibration method.
- Apply concepts of analytical quality control and quality assurance methods.
- Demonstrate an understanding of atomic, molecular, UV/VIS, mass spectrometry, magnetic resonance spectrometry, liquid chromatography, and chromatography techniques.
- Differentiate between methods for analysis of different matrices.
