Student Learning Outcomes
- Integrate effective composition and communication skills, and critical analysis and use of information to explain and criticize papers published in the primary scientific literature.
- Describe scientific evidence of evolution based on the fossil record, molecular biology, comparative anatomy, physiology, and behavior.
- Explain the roles of mutation, genetic drift, gene flow, and natural selection in bringing about evolutionary change within populations.
- Explain various mechanisms through which new species can arise.
- Construct and interpret phylogenies.
