Description Theory and application of scientific principles to the preservation of biological diversity and the sustainable use of natural resources. Local and global issues are addressed.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Explain the threats to biological diversity and consequences of biodiversity loss.
- Demonstrate how ecological, evolutionary, and ethical principles apply to conservation problems.
- Discuss relevant policy and law as it relates to the conservation of biological diversity.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills in assessment, analysis, and synthesis of conservation issues through effective written and verbal communication.
