Description
ENG 101 is designed to strengthen college-level writing skills, with particular attention to audience, purpose, and rhetorical situation focusing on the writing process and introducing research.

Please note: Completion of the English guided self-placement survey is strongly recommended.

Student Learning Outcomes
1. Identify and analyze a text’s purpose, audience, and context.
2. Demonstrate information literacy by locating, evaluating, and integrating relevant sources.
3. Use a process approach to compose well-developed, thesis-driven essays.
4. Employ appropriate documentation to support research-based essays.
