MT 124 - Industrial Lubrication

Description
This course covers various lubrication systems, their operations, preventative maintenance, repair and failure analysis. Included are ring, bath, splash, constant level and force-fed systems. Proper use of related equipment will be covered.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Define key terms such as viscosity, friction, wear, boundary lubrication, and extreme pressure additives.
- Apply lubricant properties and selection criteria to choose the appropriate lubricant for various industrial equipment (e.g., gears, bearings, compressors) in specific operating conditions.
- Analyze machine condition monitoring data, including oil analysis reports and wear particle analysis, to diagnose potential lubrication-related issues.
- Develop a comprehensive lubrication schedule and maintenance plan for a specified industrial facility, incorporating best practices for safety and environmental compliance.
