NRES 431 - Analysis of Environmental Contaminants Laboratory

Description
Trace analysis of chemicals in the environment. Extraction, separation, detection, and determination of chemicals using chromatographic and spectrometric methods. This course must be taken with NRES 430 during the same semester.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Identify major water, soil, solid, and other pollutants by matrix.
- Explain the methods used for analysis of water, soil, solid, and other pollutants.
- Summarize quality control protocols under USEPA regulated programs.
- Identify methods and protocols for specific matrix and regulated programs.
- Identify and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sample analysis.
- Review and qualify data for reporting under USEPA regulated programs.
