STAT 152 - Introduction to Statistics Credits: 3 Description Basic probability and statistical methods with applications (possibly with computers and the internet); correlation, descriptive statistics, experiments, graphical presentation of data, hypothesis and significance testing, linear regression, point and interval estimation, sampling, and/or other related and special topics.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Understand and apply basic probability and statistical methods.
- Interpret and present data using descriptive statistics and graphs.
- Construct point and intervals estimation for parameters based on data.
- Conduct hypothesis testing using data.
- Analyze data using appropriate statistical analyses such as linear regression.
Prerequisite: A grade of C or better in either MATH 124 or MATH 126 or MATH 128 ; or a satisfactory ACT/SAT/Placement Test score
