Principles and practices of protecting valuable data from loss, corruption and compromise. Emphasis on the needs of home computer users and small businesses. Topics include data backup, risk assessment, network and internet security and e-commerce.

Summarize common computer security concepts and terms.
Prescribe procedures for assessing security risks of computer systems.
Schedule data backups.
Relate the characteristics of user accounts and access privileges.
Model the various types of attacks on computer systems and the procedures to mitigate the attacks.

Summarize the special security requirements of wireless computing.
