DH 202 - Pharmacology Credits: 2 Description A study of drugs by groups with special emphasis on those used in dentistry including their physical and chemical properties, dosage and therapeutic effects.

- Analyze the common pharmaceutical preparations.
- Calculate the mathematics of dosage for common therapeutic agents.
- Compare and contrast important drug legislation and standards relating to pharmaceutical preparations.
- Correlate basic groupings of pharmacologic agents related to their action or side effects.
- Evaluate methods of administering medications.
- Explain therapeutic effects of the basic groups of medications.
- Explain side effects of the basic groups of medications.
- Discriminate medications that affect specific organ systems.
- Justify medications for possible side effects and contraindications for treatment of patients.
