DH 308 - Dental Materials Credits: 2 Description Study of dental materials including physical and chemical properties, manipulation, utilization, and application in dental and dental hygiene procedures.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Evaluate physical and chemical properties of dental materials for their manipulation and use in various preventive, therapeutic, and restorative processes.
- Appraise laboratory safety procedures to prevent hazardous accidents.
- Integrate dental materials science in the provision of patient care.
- Evaluate the condition of various dental materials for functionality, repair, or replacement during examination.
- Use dental materials in case studies for education, case presentation, and clinical re-evaluation of patient oral health.
Prerequisite: Admission to the B.S. Dental Hygiene program
