Investigates a special topic and/or area of interest within the field of English language, creative writing, or composition.

Demonstrate critical thinking in the use of language in composition or creative writing.
Identify purpose and audience within a rhetorical context with an eye on developing style.
Use the steps ofthe writing process (using strategies in revision, organization, and style).
Develop a sophisticated level of appreciation of aesthetics of written language.

Prerequisite: ENG 100 or ENG 101 or ENG 101H or ENG 110 or ENG 113 with a grade of C- or higher; or Department Chair or Instructor approval
