FT 153 - Occupational Safety and Health for Emergency Services

Description
This course introduces the basic concepts of occupational health and safety as it relates to emergency service organizations. Topics include risk and hazard evaluation and control procedures for emergency service organizations. FESHE Non-Core Course.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Describe the history of occupational health and safety.
- Identify occupational health and safety programs for industry and emergency services today.
- Compare the difference between standards and regulations.
- Describe the components of risk identification, risk evaluation, and incident management.
- Describe the relevance for safety in the work place including the importance of PPE.
Prerequisite: FT 104 or Instructor approval
