JOUR 212 - Principles of Advertising Credits: 3 Description Examination of the purpose, function, and role of advertising in society. Emphasis is on the practical application of advertising as part of the marketing mix including customer identification, branding, message development, and media selection.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the hierarchy and role of the various departments found within an advertising agency.
- Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of mass media in the creation and implementation of the advertising campaign.
- Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the application of communication theory to advertising problems.
