Description
This course provides an introduction to the field of substance use. Included is a discussion of the basic pharmacology of psychoactive substances, the signs/symptoms of addiction, and how these disorders are treated.

Identify the signs and symptoms of substance use and behavioral addictions.
Explain the pharmacology of psychoactive substances.
Discuss variables that develop and sustain substance use and behavioral disorders.
Explain treatment approaches that are used for substance use and behavioral disorders.
Identify local and national resources for treatment.
