MHDD 150 - Issues In Substance Abuse Credits: 1 Description This course provides an introduction to the field of substance use. Included is a discussion of the basic pharmacology of psychoactive substances, the signs/symptoms of addiction, and how these disorders are treated.

- Identify the signs and symptoms of substance use and behavioral addictions.
- Explain the pharmacology of psychoactive substances.
- Discuss variables that develop and sustain substance use and behavioral disorders.
- Explain treatment approaches that are used for substance use and behavioral disorders.
