MT 102B - Fundamentals of Electricity Credits: 4 Description Fundamentals of constructing electrical circuits, measuring their predictable parameters, using measuring instruments and materials needed to maintain and repair electrical systems. Students in this course should have a working knowledge of algebra.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Describe the different types of electricity and their applications in test situations.
- Define important terminology and characteristics of various electrical circuits in a written test.
- Identify different electrical parts in a hands-on lab test and describe their functions and operations.
- Describe different laws in electricity through examples.
- Explain basic electrical logic diagrams and perform troubleshooting.
- Construct series, parallel and combination circuits.
- Troubleshoot circuits using Ohm’s law and Watt’s law (Math component).
- Develop positive attitudes toward work and service to others (Human relations component).
