Overview of developmental psychology from a lifespan perspective including physical, mental, social, and emotional changes at all stages of life from conception to death.

Student Learning Outcomes

Describe terminology, major theories, and research findings prevalent in developmental psychology.
Discuss developmental processes that contribute to human socialization, learning, behavior, emotions, cognition, personality, gender identity, attraction, sexuality,and intelligence.
Explain various influences on human development including biology, family, peers, teachers, environment, social class, gender, culture, ethnicity, and other influences.
Discuss life factors that contribute to normal, abnormal or psychopathological patterns of development.
Apply theories and findings in developmental psychology to analyze issues at various stages across the lifespan.
