PT 126 - Physical Agent Procedures and Practices Credits: 2 Description Students develop competence in the correct application of therapeutic heat and cold, electrotherapy, intermittent compression, massage, short wave diathermy, traction and ultrasound.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate safe and appropriate preparation of the patient for treatment.
- Demonstrate safe, appropriate and effective application techniques of specific physical agents.
- Instruct patients/caregivers in safe, appropriate and effective application techniques of specific physical agents for home use.
- Demonstrate appropriate wound care techniques using mock wounds.
- Appropriately document treatment and patient response.
Prerequisite: PT 105 and PT 110 and PT 111 and PT 117 and PT 118
