PT 238 - Pathophysiology I Credits: 3 Description Review of the inflammatory and healing processes of tissue trauma or disease and the disease process associated with specific musculoskeletal pathologies.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Identify the stages in the inflammatory process and the stages in the soft tissue healing process.
- Identify the embryological components of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.
- Identify and describe the major types of joints and tissues in the body.
- Describe various injury mechanisms related to the ankle, foot and toes.
- Describe various injury mechanisms related to the knee.
- Describe various injury mechanisms related to the hip.
- Describe various injury mechanisms related to the lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine.
- Describe various injury mechanisms related to the shoulder complex.
- Describe various injury mechanisms related to the elbow.
- Describe various injury mechanisms related to the wrist and hand.
- Identify and describe the functions of the muscles responsible for normal motions of the neck, trunk and extremities.
