PT 251 - Therapeutic Procedures for Cardiopulmonary Pathologies Credits: 1 Description Students develop competencies in the application of specific treatment protocols used with cardiopulmonary pathologies.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate correct palpation of bony and muscular components of the thorax and rib cage.
- Demonstrate correct palpation of all major pulse sites of primary arterial vessels.
- Demonstrate proper auscultation of the heart and lungs.
- Demonstrate consistent blood pressure and oxygen readings on individuals at rest, during exercise and post exercise.
- Demonstrate postural drainage techniques.
- Describe the effect of aerobic and anaerobic exercise on well and diseased populations.
- Use the assessment techniques to measure cardiovascular and pulmonary endurance.
Prerequisite: PT 120 and PT 121 and PT 122 and PT 125 and PT 126 and PT 130 and PT 134
