Description
Designed for students who have an informal training in Spanish, but little or no formal instruction. Emphasis on grammar, transfer of literacy skills, vocabulary enrichment and cultural awareness.

Student Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate an understanding of the differences between colloquial and academic Spanish, and begin to develop a formal variety.
Expand their knowledge of Spanish vocabulary and idiomatic expressions.
Demonstrate an understanding of and ability to apply basic grammar and orthography.
Demonstrate an understanding of intermediate level reading passages.
Write intermediate-low level compositions.
Become familiar with a variety of cultural traditions and situations within the Spanish-speaking world, including the United States.
