WMST 286 - Goddess TraditionsSame as: HIST 286 Credits: 3 Description A study of goddess images in a variety of cultures from prehistory to the modern age including the history, values, beliefs, practices, and ethics systems associated with goddess imagery.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Acknowledge, respect, and understand the diversity of spiritual expression throughout human history and the modern world.
- Compare and contrast the values of a feminine based spirituality to those of patriarchy.
- Discuss a variety of Goddess images as they have appeared through the world historically.
- Trace the evolution of the image of the Goddess through successive periods of time, relating the image to its historical, political, social, and economic context.
- Recognize Goddess images as they are found in modern culture.
