NURS 333 - Scholarly Writing in Nursing Credits: 2 Description This course prepares the RN to BSN student to develop their scholarly writing skills while utilizing APA format. Students will interpret findings from current nursing literature in order to succinctly describe health care issues affecting the community.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate basic proficiency in the use of APA style and format expected in professional writing.
- Write clear, concise, and grammatically correct sentences, with proper punctuation when paraphrasing and/or summarizing relevant content.
- Integrate theories and concepts into professional writing related to nursing practice and community healthcare.
- Analyze strategies on the dissemination of created health-related information that impacts healthcare issues affecting the community.
- Enhance written communication skills to promote professionalism in nursing and as a health care team member.
- Critique the validity and accuracy of self and peer professional writing to effectively communicate among nursing professionals.
Prerequisite: ENG 102 with a grade of C or better Corequisite: None Graded: Letter Grade
