ENV 345 - Environmental Regulations, History, Law, and Methods Credits: 3 Description The introduction to environmental regulatory approaches used in the United States and globally, and the legal authority behind those regulations. This course explores the range of regulatory interventions that have been used, and historical, political, sociological, legal, and technological limitations and advantages of different environmental regulatory schemes.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Evaluate the role of law and policy in conservation and management of natural resources and prevention of pollution.
- Demonstrate workplace prevention, risk management, and incident investigations.
- Practice the laws, policies, and institutions in the field of environmental management.
- Demonstrate safe record keeping and environmental management, and the role of the manager.
- Illustrate the importance between agency control and oversight.
- Employ policies, procedures, and equipment needed to deal with hazardous materials.
Prerequisite: ENV 101 with a grade of C or higher
