CS 140 - Computing Languages


Credits: 3
Description
Explore a programming language at an introductory level. Topics will include the language’s data types, input, output, operators, decisions and looping statements, functions and other topics specific to the language.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Solve problems using the fundamental syntax and semantics of the language.
  2. Create programs that include appropriate loops, decision structures, data structures, and modularization.
  3. Use generally accepted principles of good programming style and documentation.
  4. Create programs that include files for input and output.
  5. Create programs that include error handling.

Prerequisite: CIT 129  or Instructor approval
Corequisite: None
Graded: Letter Grade
May Be Repeated: Up to a maximum of 6 credits (for students who wish to explore up to two different languages)
