Aviation Technology: Flight Operations, AAS

DESCRIPTION
The Aviation Technology Flight Operations program is designed specifically for students who have a desire to work in aviation-related careers. Thorough coverage of the Federal Aviation Regulations will apply to all aspects of study. The program provides the application of concepts pertaining to airport, aircraft and airline operations for domestic and international flights. The program will prepare students to enter the employment market as Flight Crew Members, Flight Operations Specialists, Crew Scheduler, Flight Follower, Customer Service Representative, or Assistant Flight Dispatcher. Students must meet all eligibility requirements determined by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Transportation Security Administration.

Student Learning Outcomes


  1. Explain the U.S. Federal Aviation Regulations and how they pertain to airport operating procedures, crew rest requirements, general operating flight rules, scheduled and non-scheduled flight operations.
  2. Identify the principles of flight pertaining to normal and transport category aircraft.
  3. Integrate management concepts particular to airports and the relationship among airline operating environments.
