WHO SHOULD USE THIS ACADEMIC MAP
This academic map should be used by CSN students who are completing the Associate of Arts, AA at CSN and plan to transfer to UNLV to complete a BA Gender and Sexuality Studies Major upon graduating from CSN.
HOW THIS ACADEMIC MAP IS SET UP
The academic map totals a minimum of 60 credits and assumes no transferred coursework. It is set up to show students the ideal path to completing the degree in four (4) semesters. Students who cannot take the map’s recommended number of credits each semester will take longer to complete the degree, graduate and transfer. CSN Semester #2 - Recommended Courses - English Composition (General Education) - Credits 3: Options Include: ENG 102 or ENG 114
- Natural Science with Lab Experience (General Education) - Credits 3-4:
Three (3) Credit Option with Lab (No Prerequisites): BIOL 122
Four (4) Credit Options with Lab (No Prerequisites) include: ANTH 102 and ANTH 110L ; or AST 103 and AST 105 ; or AST 104 and AST 105 ; or BIOL 101 ; or CHEM 105 and CHEM 106 ; or CHEM 107 ; or GEOG 103 and GEOG 104 ; or GEOL 101 ; or PHYS 110 - U.S. and Nevada Constitutions (General Education) - Credits 4: Options Include: PSC 101 or HIST 100
- Core Requirement (Major Requirements) - Credits 3: WMST 101 - Introduction to Women’s Studies

- Social Science Elective (Major Requirements) - Credits 3: See a counselor or advisor to choose a course without prerequisites, is valued at 3 credits, and is a different course prefix from the Social Science courses completed in Semester #2 and Semester #3.
