WHO SHOULD USE THIS ACADEMIC MAP

This academic map should be used by CSN students who are completing the History, AA at CSN and plan to transfer to Utah Tech University to complete a BS History Major upon graduating from CSN.

Students should visit the Utah Tech University Transfer Students web page for transfer course grade and GPA requirements.

HOW THIS ACADEMIC MAP IS SET UP

The academic map totals a minimum of 60 credits and assumes no transferred coursework. It is set up to show students the ideal path to completing the degree in four (4) semesters. Students who cannot take the map’s recommended number of credits each semester will take longer to complete the degree, graduate and transfer. CSN Semester #1 - Recommended Courses

Total Minimum Credits: 15
Utah Tech recommends completion of COM 101 for satisfying the Humanities section of the Major Requirements.
Student MUST MEET with an advisor or counselor BEFORE REGISTERING for their NEXT SEMESTER.

Mathematics (General Education) - Credits 3-5: Options Include: MATH 120 or MATH 120E or above
English Composition (General Education) - Credits 3-5: Options Include: ENG 100 or ENG 101 or ENG 110 or ENG 113
U.S. and Nevada Constitutions (General Education) - Credits 3: HIST 101 - U.S. History to 1877
Fine Arts (Major Requirements) - Credits 3: See a counselor or advisor to choose a course option without prerequisites and is valued at 3 credits.
Humanities (Major Requirements) - Credits 3: COM 101 - Public Speaking

CSN Semester #2 - Recommended Courses

Total Minimum Credits: 16
Utah Tech recommends completion of ENG 231 or 232 for satisfying the Literature section of the General Education requirements.

Four (4) Credit Options with Lab (No Prerequisites) include: ANTH 102 and ANTH 110L ; or AST 103 and AST 105 ; or AST 104 and AST 105 ; or BIOL 101 ; or CHEM 105 and CHEM 106 ; or CHEM 107 ; or GEOG 103 and GEOG 104 ; or GEOL 101 ; or PHYS 110

Please note - Students completing six (6) credits of Natural Science will need to complete two (2) credits of HIST 295. Students completing seven (7) credits of Natural Science will need to complete one (1) credit of HIST 295.
