WHO SHOULD USE THIS ACADEMIC MAP
This academic map should be used by CSN students who are completing the Art, AA at CSN and plan to transfer to UNR to complete a BA or BFA Art-Digital Media Major upon graduating from CSN. This includes the following UNR Art Programs
Students transferring to UNR should visit the UNR Transfer Center for transfer course grade and GPA requirements.
HOW THIS ACADEMIC MAP IS SET UP
The academic map totals a minimum of 60 credits and assumes no transferred coursework. It is set up to show students the ideal path to completing the degree in four (4) semesters. Students who cannot take the map’s recommended number of credits each semester will take longer to complete the degree, graduate and transfer. CSN Semester #1 - Recommended Courses
- Total Minimum Credits: 15
- ART 100 is a UNR Required Course.
- Student MUST MEET with an advisor or counselor BEFORE REGISTERING for their NEXT SEMESTER.
CSN Semester #2 - Recommended Courses CSN Semester #3 - Recommended Courses
- Total Minimum Credits: 16
- World Languages 111 or above course is a UNR Recommended Course.
- Student MUST MEET with an advisor or counselor BEFORE REGISTERING for their NEXT SEMESTER.
CSN Semester #4 - Recommended Courses - Natural Science With Lab Experience (General Education) - Credits 4:
Four (4) Credit Options with Lab (No Prerequisites) include: ANTH 102 and ANTH 110L ; or AST 103 and AST 105 ; or AST 104 and AST 105 ; or BIOL 101 ; or CHEM 105 and CHEM 106 ; or CHEM 107 ; or GEOG 103 and GEOG 104 ; or GEOL 101 ; or PHYS 110 - U.S. and Nevada Constitutions (General Education) - Credits 4: Options Include: HIST 100 or PSC 101
- Core Requirements (Major Requirements) - Credits 1: ART 298 - Portfolio Emphasis
- General Elective (Major Requirements) - Credits 4: See a counselor or advisor to choose a World Language 112 or above course (this includes the following course prefixes: ARA, ARM, CHI, FIL, FREN, GER, GRE, ITAL, JPN, KOR, LAT, PORT, RUS, SPAN, and THAI)
- General Elective (Major Requirements) - Credits 1: See a counselor or advisor to choose a course without prerequisites and is valued at 1 credit.
