ADMITTANCE INFORMATION

Admittance into the Bachelor of Science Nursing: RN to BSN requires:
  • An Associates Degree in Nursing (A.D.N.) from a recognized accredited Nursing Program
  • and an unencumbered Nevada R.N. License,
  • and 1-6 credits of U.S. and Nevada Constitutions (depends on coursework completed; Nevada Constitution required by may be completed as part of this degree).

DESCRIPTION
The Bachelor of Science Degree Completion Program (RN to BSN) allows A.D.N. educated Registered Nurses the opportunity to build upon their knowledge, enhance their current professional role, advance to broader careers to meet the growing health care needs of the local community, and provide the education required for practice by the professional nurse.  The curriculum is designed to expand the student’s knowledge regarding the role of the professional nurse within the urban community.  Graduates of the Baccalaureate program will be qualified for an array of challenging career opportunities in population-based health, education, administration, research, management, informatics, and related fields.  This program is designed to be delivered online.  All clinical experiences are community-based and may be individualized to the student learner.

 

Student Learning Outcomes


  1. Provide safe and quality care to individuals, families, groups, and populations by integrating nursing arts and sciences.
  2. Incorporate evidence-based findings into professional practice.
  3. Demonstrate leadership skills and knowledge of the health care, financial, and regulatory systems to promote high quality, safe professional practice.
  4. Utilize patient-centered care for individuals and families, acknowledging their preferences, culture, values, and unique needs.
  5. Demonstrate collaboration, communication, and leadership strategies while functioning as a member of the interdisciplinary team to achieve quality and safe patient care.
  6. Use information management systems and patient care technology to communicate, update knowledge, avoid error, and support decision making in various health care settings.
  7. Demonstrate professional role via a presentation of a capstone project within an interdisciplinary setting.
