RESTRICTED ENTRY PROGRAM
Students MUST be indentured in the Structural Steel Ironworkers Apprenticeship Program before enrolling in classes. Special consideration will be given students who complete the Trade Union Ironworker Apprentice Certificate of Achievement if they are affected by the retroactive six year rule. DESCRIPTION
This program prepares the student for employment as a Structural Steel Ironworker Journeyman with the Ironworkers Union. In addition to special program courses, academic skills emphasizing math, science, and human relations components are stressed to prepare students to meet the challenges common in the work place.

 

Student Learning Outcomes


  1. Comprehend and utilize all applicable structural steel tools.
  2. Comprehend and utilize all formulas used in the calculations of all phases of structural steel work.
  3. Comprehend the ability to troubleshoot and repair any problems that arise in structural steel installations.

General Education Requirements (3-5 Credits)


Special Program Requirements (28 Credits)


Any IRW journeyman course offered for credit may be substituted for any of the above IRW apprentice courses. Please contact the program coordinator for more details.
