BUS 290 - Internship in Business Credits: 1-3 Description A course designed wherein students will apply knowledge to real on-the-job situations in a program designed by a company official and a faculty advisor to maximize learning experiences. Available to students who have completed the majority of their general education requirements and have completed at least 21 credits of special program requirements and have a 3.0 GPA in their special program required courses. Contact the appropriate faculty member for the application, screening and required skills evaluation.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Integrate skill competencies in the Business Program with specific work assignments.
- Enhance skill competencies in the business specialty area with specific “on the job” training
- Maximize exposure to the workings and environment of a business or corporation through “real life” business experience.
- Provide “real job experience” for resume and as a source of professional recommendations.
