This is a limited-entry program. Some of these courses are program prerequisites and MUST be completed before a student is considered eligible for entry into the Program. DESCRIPTION
The Dental Hygienist is the licensed prevention specialist in the dental health team, providing health education, administering local anesthesia, removing deposits and stains from teeth, exposing x-rays, and applying topical fluoride. The curriculum is demanding, requiring a high degree of individual motivation, stamina, and manual dexterity. Graduates will be eligible to take the written national Board and clinical State or Regional Boards in order to become licensed.
SPECIALIZED ACCREDITATION
This program of classroom and clinical instruction is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and has been granted the accreditation status of “approval without reporting requirements.” The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education.
