Description Course provides an opportunity to apply concepts in physical geography, including map interpretation, computer GIS, meteorological processes, development of landforms and an understanding of the dynamics of the earth.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Distinguish between components of the scientific method including theory, experiment, and data analysis as applied to problems in landform analyses.
- Analyze graphical data regarding the earth’s physical characteristics and processes on a global to local scale.
- Explore geospatial interactions and systems such as circulation of atmosphere, oceans and geomorphology.
- Examine the fundamentals of geographic grid coordinate systems through the use of maps, globes and GIS.
