AM 146 - American Sign Language II

Description
The course continues to stress the development of basic conversational skills with emphasis on expanding vocabulary and expressive skills.

Please note: Students MUST earn a C- or better in this course for completion of the AAS or BAS Deaf Studies.

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Attain foundational receptive and expressive skills of the features of ASL in targeted dialogues.
  2. Produce a receptive and expressive set of targeted vocabulary items including lexicalized fingerspelling.
  3. Employ strategies for conversation regulators in ASL.
  4. Express self-generated short stories, narratives, etc., in ASL.

Prerequisite: AM 145  with a grade of C- or higher; or Instructor approval
